Lehigh Valley Small on Scale Miniatures Club
Who is "Small on Scale"
We are Chapter #C285 of the National Association of Miniatures Enthusiasts (NAME), an organization
comprised of clubs in the United States and Canada. NAME is an educational non-profit organization operating
under IRS code 509 (a) (2) with a 501 (c) (3) tax status.
Lehigh Valley Small on Scale began in 1978, when a few miniaturists, who were employees and volunteers of
the Lehigh Valley Child Care Agency, decided to raise funds for the agency. They did this by creating a
dollhouse exhibit. The outcome of that exhibit was to increase the interest and understanding of the
construction and collection of miniatures as historical and creative art forms.
Our members are vibrant people who share one interest: the love of miniatures. Some of us are skilled
craftspeople; others are collectors. We all have something to share and something to learn.
The proceeds of our annual show and sale support local charities and fund educational club activities.
When do we meet: The first Tuesday of every month, except June and December. In June we have our annual
picnic and in December we have our Holiday party.
Our meetings are hybrid. Due to COVID-19 we began meeting on Zoom. Lately we have begun to meet in
person and are currently meeting at Fellowship Manor. Contact Lois Kunkle for more information (email below)
What Time do we meet: 7:00 pm is the start of the business meeting with a small project taught after the
business meeting.
Additionally, we schedule play dates once a month, during the day, where we get together to just meet, mingle,
eat, make minis and otherwise enjoy each other's company.
If you have any questions about our club, or if you are interested in joining us, we would
love to hear from you!
